- Velveteen Dream is scheduled to face Austin Theory in an upcoming EVOLVE show on September 7th and some people were wondering why the NXT Superstar is working an indie show. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported that Velveteen Dream working an indie show had nothing to do with heat, in fact, it was Dream’s idea. They are running a show in Joppa Maryland where Dream started his pro wrestling career while being trained at Maryland Championship Wrestling. Lio Rush came from the same fed and they started together.
- Pro Wrestling Sheet is reporting that Daniel Bryan has signed a multi-year deal with WWE. It looks like he will be staying around WWE for much longer at this point but he has become a staple in the company.
- Big Cass recently talked to Heated Conversations With Booker T about who he still communicates with on the WWE roster at this point when he is currently trying to start an indie wrestling career as Big C. “I talk to my buddies from WWE still, like Kevin Owens, or Daniel Bryan who has helped me in more ways than one. They just say the work outside WWE is incredible compared to what it was when they were just working independents.”“Adam Cole, he’s a great dude. That guy… I don’t say this about many people, that guy is a great human being, just an amazing human bring.”
- According to the Wrestling Observer the gate for Cody and The Young Bucks self-produced event ALL IN pulled in an impressive $458,525 dollars just from the gate and not including the half-million Pro Wrestling Tees made in merchandise sales. Tickets for the event were wildly underpriced when compared to a 2011 Strikeforce show that drew only 8,000 fans and netted only 200,000 more. The Observer also reports that Fite Tv pulled in over $1 million dollars in iPPV sales between ALL IN and Starrcast. Besides the incredible acclaim the show has received for its in-ring performance, it is now known that it was wildly successful financially as well.
